Description: This is a vintage original map of the South China Sea issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Map Service. This map is printed one side only and measures about 45” x 30”. The upper margin is printed “East Asia And North Pacific 1:4,350,000” and “South China Sea” and “Sheet 6, Series 1201”. The lower margin is printed: Prepared under the direction of the Chief of Engineers by the Army Map Service (AM); U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Compiled in 1945 from Long Range Air Navigation Charts, 1:3,000,000, AAF, 1944, Boundaries and railroads revised, 1955. Also printed in the lower margin is ‘Printed By Army Map Service, Corps of Engineer, 2-60” which I believe indicates a 1960 publication date. This is a vintage original lightly used map with moderate handling wear including some bumping along the edges. The map is free or tape and pinholes. Overall condition is very good.
