It features the upcoming matchup between the Auburn Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies for the 1986 New Year’s Day Cotton Bowl. This newsletter showcases team stats from the 1985 Tigers football season and was put out just before Bo Jackson won the 1985 Heisman Trophy. The headline “Aggies Next For AU” is in anticipation of the Cotton Bowl game which was Bo Jackson’s last Auburn game. Besides winning the Heisman, Bo went on to be the number one NFL draft pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers only to decide to play professional baseball instead. The rest is sports history... The newsletter measures approx. 8 ½” x 11” and is in good condition. There is some wrinkling but no marks or tears. There is an address label on the back and the newsletter shows some creases from its original folds for mailing. This is a cool look back at an incredible Auburn team.
