Many from locations in California, but also, NY, MA, MT, IL, ID, VA, HI, CANADA, BAHAMAS, and more! Hotels, restaurants and advertisements. A few of the covers have some telephone numbers written inside and also some calculations, but majority have no marks other than the strike stripes where the matches were used. Possibly a salesman or other businessman who did lots of traveling. Sure does look like a lot of miles and a lot of cigarettes during a period when smoking was a popular behavior.
