Edgar Hoover and Martin Luther King calling it “a chain of racist terror unsurpassed in in America since the turn of the century, and complete absence of police protection for Negroes ….”, etc., etc. In the Editorial it lists a number of atrocities in Mississippi against African Americans and the total lack of response from the FBI to protect their civil rights.The front page prints an article about the “Power Struggle in Steelworks Union”, interesting article on page 4&5 about “Berkley Free Speech Fight”, 2-page article about “the welfare state”, etc., etc.The newspaper measures 11 x 17 ½ inches, 10 pages, light foxing throughout, 2 ½ inch closed tear along horizontal crease, few small chips at the extremities otherwise it is in good condition.A rare copy of this Socialist newspaper, I could find no copies at on line bookseller sites, no copies on WorldCat, it will be a welcome addition to your collection.
