Serial Cable: With your computer and all Lionel hardware powered off, take your Serial cable and connect the female end to the Serial port of your computer or Serial adapter and connect the male end to your LCS SER2. Hook up your LEGACY Control System or Base-1L as you normally would by connecting the U terminal on the base unit to the common rail of your layout. Follow the instruction that came with your Lionel LCS SER2 to connect it to your base unit. Then power on your Lionel hardware and computer. Create a folder on your hard drive where you want eTrain Command Console (L) to reside. Name it anything you want. Unzip the zipped file into that folder. At this point all you need to do is double click the eTrain Command Console (L).exe file to start the application. If you wish you can add a shortcut to this file on your Desktop, Quick Launch Bar or your Programs list for easier access.
