Greetings from NEW YORK CITY Glittered Large Letters, 7 Scenes Rare UDB, pm 1905

Description: This is a great New York City "Greetings From" card with images of the "Statue of Liberty"," High Bridge", St. Patricks Cathedral", "Obelisk, Central Park", "Flat Iron Building", "Columbus Monument", and "Soldiers and Sailors Monument". The letters are glitter edged and there is a furled banner with a written message on the front. The card is a little ragged with a tape up torn right lower corner with some nicks on the edges and rounded corners, but most are not distracted. I was not able to find this card, although I did not search all of the thousands of NY cards. It was published by the "Souvenir Post Card Co." which was located in New York City and was a major publisher of a variety of postcard types, from 1905 to 1914. They used three different printers over the course of their business, which changed the look of their cards. Some of the early cards were printed with the name E. Frey (owner?) on them. The company was purchased by "Valentine and Sons". and they produced cards in America under the name Valentine-Souvenir Co. This is an early "Souvenir PC Co." card.
