Description: A large Japanese hand mirror made of white bronze (tin and copper) from the Meiji era (1867 -1910) The bamboo wrapping around the handle is still in good condition. The highly detailed design on the back is in good condition. The mirror face itself still reflects pretty well has some of it's polish. (See photo # 6 while the taking the photo. Keep in mind we're using only two lights and our background is dark) It comes with it original two piece lacquered wood storage case. The mirror itself fits into the smaller case and that fits inside the larger case. The lacquer on the wood case is flaking off in some places (see photos of both sides)But the case did serve it's purpose of protecting the mirror which is in very good condition considering its age. The mirror itself is 13 3/8 x 9 1/4 inches (34 x 23.5 cm) It weighs just over 3 pounds (mirror and case) We have been selling Japanese antiques for 26 years.
