Description: Primitive American- Pa Antique Blanket Chest Bench Cira 1800's w TillOffered is a Primitive American- Pa Antique Blanket Chest Bench. The back of the piece shows the wonderful dovetail craftsmanship of early America. The piece came from a local Estate in Chester County Pennsylvania. The chest is Cira 1800's, the family could not tell us where the parents acquired the chest only that is was found locally. The piece has the original Till box, where people from the country and farms stored their money and valuables. This versatile piece is made from what we believe is Walnut and has been finished with a Red simulated grain swirl at some point by a previous owner-( see pics)! It is in excellent Antique condition for its age( fully functional), shows minor age wear (no key, minor surface marks, small chips; see pictures). It is not signed.
