This was SBE's top of the line mobile SSB transceiver, sold during the eighties. No expenses were spared when this radio was designed, and as a result it works phenomenal in both SSB as well as AM modes. The SBE Sidebander V is still able to compete with anything that is on the market today, despite its age. A truly nice design from SBE. These radios were very expensive at the days so not too many were sold. As a result, they are a rare find nowadays, especially if you want one in nice, unmodified condition
