Description: Teens or 1920’s Furniture Order Booklet, Pre-1954 Tobacco Carton, etc... 1945 envelope, dated 1928 Norwegian booklet, old unused 1 cent postcard, two bike license plates. The envelope has a 3 cent stamp with 11 sailors on it. The Norwegian booklet is 32 pages titled “Guds barn paa jorden” by Hoyer. The 1 cent card is blank on one side and for the U.S. Slicing Machine Co. Neat old paper stuff! The two 1960s bicycle license plates are Minnesota and say “Melinda and Louise” (aluminum). Two very old price tags are included having come out of the Isadora Dahl Burr Oak Store as she ceased operating. Where did thus old store and tavern stuff come from? I have picked from old dump sites since 1942; and that is when my long gone friend, age 92 Otto R. started ( or in 1940). After Otto went to the nursing home in the early 1990s, I was awarded the fascinating privilege of picking through his many sheds full before they were tore apart and burnt. A small percentage came from there. In 1962, I began a 2-decade-long career into also purchasing stuff out of attics, basements and old houses as a genuine antique picker. Dealers were waiting for me to return home with a load. I tended to keep for myself many old store and tavern antiques. In 1973, I drew up plans for a large recreation hall which were approved by zoning authorities, and leveled off a location for it. It would have been designed like the Long Branch on Gunsmoke with back bars, soda fountains, furniture and usual 1880s-1940s attire and displays as seen in old stores. There was to be a large dance or roller skating floor with a calliope. I had accumulated nearly everything except the calliope. I hate to discard these plans, but born in 1935, I'd rather plan for eternity. And so, thus I'll eke this stuff out for you who share similar interests. It's been stored, piled, compacted in the corner of an attic of an old masonry building that I plan to move out of; and every evening that I'm up there sorting through other stuff and when I leave, I grab a few pieces to bring home and describe for eBay. Prior to this, I shunned selling it; I wanted to preserve it for furnishing the dance hall or set it up in display in another building; but this is becoming more and more distant in my plans and the dance hall thing has been scrapped 5 or 8 years ago.
