Vintage 1970's Rexor 20 ATM Diver w/Aged Blue Dial,Patina,All SS Case,Orig Band

Description: This seldom seen vintage 1970's Rexor diver is a truly special watch with oodles of character. It has a uniquely aged blue "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial and the original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm golden buttermilk hue. The blue bezel, which rotates bidirectionally, complements the dial and patina beautifully. The heavy duty all stainless steel case appears to have retained its original brushed satin finish to the top of the lugs and sharp chamfers. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERPROOF INCABLOC STAINLESS STEEL AUTOMATIC SWISS MADE SKIN DIVER" with "20 ATM" followed by "200 METERS" stamped in the center. The crystal shows light scratching. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches that I put up for sale the case back on this one is torqued to what feels like factory specs and is too tight for me to remove. The automatic movement with quickset date function runs strong, keeps accurate time and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am as it should. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an impressive 43 hour power reserve period. The crown unscrews and screws back down perfectly as it should and winds buttery smooth. Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 36 mm without the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12 mm. This watch comes on its original all stainless steel band that is stamped "REXOR WATCH" followed by "SWISS,""STAINLESS STEEL" and "KEVIN" on the inside of the clasp with "REXOR" stamped on the outside of the buckle. This bracelet shows little stretch and is a bit loose on my approximate 6.5 inch wrist when set on the loosest clasp setting. It's possible that it may accommodate up to a 7 inch wrist.Although the movement runs strong and keeps accurate time, given the vintage nature of this watch and considering that the movement has very likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
