Description: Waltham 18 size, 15 jewel, model 1877 gilt hunter movement in a coin silver hinged, open face case. The gilt, lever setting 1877 full plate hunting movement is very clean, marked Appleton Tracy & Co., Waltham Mass., Adjusted, Pat. Pinion, & serial number 1,810041, with blued movement and case screws. Production dating places this between October 1882 & February 1883. The movement runs nicely. It winds easily. The set lever needs to be held out for setting but sets smoothly. The white single-sunk roman numeral dial is perfect, marked A. W. & Co.,Waltham, showing no hairlines or chips. The blued steel "Morning Glory" hands are very nice. The hinged lid open face case is in very good condition. The hinges open freely and stop at 90 degrees and snap closed. There are a few minor dents to the case back along with scratches from normal wear. The thick glass crystal is in very good condition with only a couple minor scratches. The watch currently runs to +/- 10 seconds per day (in my local Minnesota climate).
